UFC lightweight and The Ultimate Fighter 27 cast member, Luis Pena, was arrested on Saturday in Deerfield Beach, Florida on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and battery.
MMA Junkie's Matthew Wells and Simon Samano were the first to report the news of Pena's arrest, confirming it with the Broward County Sheriff's Office who gave them the following statement regarding the situation. This is Pena's second run-in with the law in 2021 as he was arrested back in June on battery, criminal mischief, and robbery charges. Pena's first charge of misdemeanor battery has a bond set of $5,000, while his second charge of misdemeanor domestic violence currently has a bond amount of $1,000.
At approximately 12:34 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Deerfield Beach deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call near the 200 block of Southeast 12th Avenue in Deerfield Beach. On scene, deputies made contact with multiple subjects, and Luis Antonio Peña was later detained and taken into custody. Peña was transported to BSO Main Jail and faces one count simple battery and one count domestic violence battery (both misdemeanor). The investigation continues.
Pena has a 9-3 overall record currently as a pro mixed martial artist and has gone 5-3 in his eight UFC appearances. He most recently defeated Alexander Munoz via a split-decision at UFC Vegas 24 back in April. Neither Pena nor his team has made any official statements about his current arrest.
