Welterweight Fight Removed From UFC 206

The UFC 206 fight card took a hit as a welterweight division contest between Chad Laprise and Li Jingliang has been pulled from the card. The reason behind the fight cancelation is that Laprise has suffered an undisclosed injury during training.

The bout was set to be a part of the evening’s preliminary card next month. Jingliang was pulled from the card as well because UFC officials felt that a suitable replacement couldn’t be found in time.

Laprise also won the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations, defeating Olivier Aubin-Mercier in the finals of the reality show. Laprise also fought twice under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating both Josh Taveirne and Ainsley Robinson.

Jingliang (11-4-0) has rotated wins and losses thus far since coming to the UFC, his last fight was a victory over Anton Zafir at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale.
