Manny Pacquiao holds the record for winning a world title in eight divisions, but Amanda Serrano could soon fight to be the women's boxing record holder.
Serrano, who has won a world title in five weight classes, is aiming to move up in weight to win a world title at 140 pounds. Promoter Lou DiBella told ESPN that he is trying to negotiate a fight between Serrano, the current WBO bantamweight and super bantamweight women's champion, and unified WBA, WBO and IBF junior welterweight female champion Ana Laura Esteche.
Serrano has had an extremely successful 2017, winning all three of her fights with relative ease. Serrano won the WBO bantamweight title in April, becoming the first Puerto Rican boxer, either male or female, to win a world title in five divisions. Winning the junior welterweight title would make her the first female boxer in history to win a world title in six divisions.
The fight would be televised on Showtime, and it will likely take place either in October or November in the United States. Serrano's last fight took place in Puerto Rico where she defeated Edina Kiss via third-round TKO in July. Serrano is now on a 19-fight win streak, having won titles at bantamweight, super bantamweight, featherweight, junior lightweight and lightweight during that streak.
