- The "Sanity" teasers on NXT are not for Mary Dobson. She hasn't moved to Orlando, she doesn't finish her indy dates until September, and the WWE isn't putting her on TV right away.
- According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Finn Balor was set to face Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens at Hell in a Cell, and Kevin Owens at Clash of Champions.
- The Observer also reported that originally AJ Styles was going to win the Universal Championship, with Reigns planned to retain the WWE Championship at Battleground.
- Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto was planned for Summerslam, and Balor was originally set to face Jericho on the show.
- PWInsider claims that there was a meeting midway through Summerslam between Triple H, Mark Carrano, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, as well as possible Randy Orton to discuss the finish of the show and was heavily debated.
