UFC Applies To Co-Promote McGregor vs. Mayweather

The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has received a request from the UFC to allow them to co-promote the upcoming super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

A vote is going to be taking place on Wednesday, August 16 by the NAC to determine if the MMA organization is going to be allowed to co-promote the event.

It would appear that the UFC isn’t the only promotion trying to get the opportunity to co-promote because TGB Promotions is trying to get in on it as well.

Since the UFC already has a promoter's license for their own events in the state of Nevada, the organization wouldn’t need a separate license to be a co-promoter for the event.

They would just need to get approved by the NAC this coming Wednesday.

McGregor’s pay is the main reason why the UFC is looking to be approved as a co-promoter, because the MMA promotion is paying McGregor for the fight according to NAC executive Bob Bennett in a statement to MMA Fighting.

Mayweather Promotions was the lone promoter for the event until the UFC threw their services into everything.

Fightful will provide you with the result of the NAC vote once it takes place on Wednesday.
