Alex Shelley Says Motor City Machine Guns Are ‘Stuck’ On Their Way To A Potential Title Shot

The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) picked up a victory over Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) on the March 20 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Prior to that, they hadn’t won a tag team match since October 2025.

Speaking to Mark Hoke, MCMG were asked about challenging for the titles in the future.

“I feel like there is a pecking order to these things. You do have to go through teams to get to the champions, and right now we’re kind of stuck, as it were. We did beat Fraxiom a few weeks ago, so hopefully that can instill some momentum. We can’t make those decisions. We can only do the best with the opportunities we get, right? As we beat more and more people, I assume we’ll get a title shot as some point. That’s usually how it works,” said Shelley.

Motor City Machine Guns won the WWE Tag Team Titles in their first month with the company, but have not had them since.

The titles are currently held by Damian Priest & R-Truth.
