ABEMA To Cease Streaming WWE Content In Japan On September 30th

ABEMA has noted that from September 30th onwards, they will not be streaming WWE content going forward, including PLEs.

Across the world, WWE content is available on various different services, but is largely present on Netflix around the globe. One nation however that has yet to have WWE’s content air on Netflix however is Japan, where the companies product has streamed live on ABEMA since 2023. Now, it appears that WWE’s content will no longer stream on ABEMA at the end of next month.

In a new social media post on August 25th, ABEMA would note that from September 30th onwards, RAW, SmackDown and Premium Live Events will no longer air on the service in Japan.

“Regarding the WWE content (RAW / SMACKDOWN / each PLE event) that has been streamed on ABEMA, the streaming will end as of September 30, 2026 (Wednesday). The final broadcast will be RAW on September 29 (Tuesday). We sincerely thank everyone who has watched WWE on ABEMA up until now. We appreciate your continued support for ABEMA.”

While nothing is confirmed, there has been speculation that WWE content will end up on Netflix in Japan also.
