Cedric Alexander Discusses Beating Leon Slater To Become TNA X Division Champion
Cedric Alexander talks about becoming champion.
The May 14th episode of TNA Wrestling Thursday Night iMPACT saw Cedric Alexander challenge Leon Slater for the X Division Championship.
Slater was one day away from becoming the longest-reigning X Division Champion in company history, but was not able to obtain the accolade as Alexander won the match and became champion. While speaking to Justin Dhillon of The Wrestling Classic, Alexander spoke about the victory.
“It’s a feather in the cap. Leon (Slater) being the longest-reigning champion would have been great, but it feels that much better to be the guy to take it from him at the very last second. He’s already the youngest champion. He tied with Austin Aries. Be happy with that. I beat him and ended his reign one day short. Now I’m gonna go on and be the longest-reigning champion of all time.”
After Alexander’s win, he was confronted by the debuting Fabian Aichner f.k.a. Giovanni Vinci. Aichner has officially signed with TNA.
