Chelsea Green discusses the magnitude of her Crown Jewel Championship match against Liv Morgan at WWE Crown Jewel later today.
Green has been WWE Women’s Champion since capturing the title at WWE SummerSlam in a ladder match, and will go up against Liv Morgan with the WWE Crown Jewel Championship on the line later today in Saudi Arabia.
While speaking to Corey Graves for WWE’s Countdown show, Chelsea Green spoke about Morgan previously being an underdog like her.
“That’s a great question because I do feel like there’s a lot of similarities. I feel like for a chunk of time, Liv was the underdog. She has scratched and clawed her way to the top, so I respect her for that. However, in this moment in time, I am scratching and clawing every single day. You watched me do it against Nia. You watched me do it against Roxanne. You watched me do it against a Hall of Famer, Nikki Bella. Liv underestimating me is perfect.”
Green would then speak about the magnitude of her bout with Morgan at the event.
“I feel like I’m living my dream. I wanted this for so long. I worked for it for so long, and I’m just trying to take every single day and be grateful that this is happening while also working extremely hard. This means everything to me because there have been so many times where in these 13 years I’ve doubted myself. Now I’m at the top of Mount Everest. I need to prove that I belong there. I need to stay there.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Chelsea spoke about feeling like a placeholder as WWE Women’s Champion. You can read more about that here.
