Elayna Black Says TNA Debut Was ‘Like A Birthday Present For Me’

Elayna Black speaks on her TNA debut.

During TNA’s premiere on AMC earlier this year, Elayna Black joined the promotion. She had previously worked for the promotion as Cora Jade.

Speaking on the Hitting the Turnbuckle podcast, Black discussed her TNA debut, saying it was like a birthday present for her.

“A hundred percent. It was also the day after my birthday. So it was like a birthday present for me. But a hundred percent. I was very excited. I was already in kind of talks with TNA before I even knew about AMC. So, seeing that it was AMC, I was like, ‘Well, this is going to be great. It’s going to be a great fresh start.’ I feel like I can add a lot to the show. I was excited to be able to do that and be able to be a surprise. I think it turned out well. I don’t think anybody even had a clue, which was my goal. I was just very excited for TNA, because I was a TNA fan when I was a kid. I remember watching when they had the Spike TV deal and I was watching every Thursday. I loved TNA. So it was a little bit harder to watch for a few years. Not everyone had that channel or could access TNA app and everything like that. So hearing that they were getting at least some type of a TV deal, I was very proud to hear because I was always a TNA fan. I always rooted for TNA. I always wanted TNA to succeed. So seeing them get that again, especially on such a good channel… everyone has AMC. Everyone knows AMC. Everyone can access AMC pretty much wherever you go. So I think it’s a perfect spot for TNA. Watch a movie and then watch wrestling or watch wrestling and then watch a movie. It’s the perfect channel.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Black said she wants to walk into TNA Lockdown as the Knockouts Champion. Fans can read her comments here.
