Jeff Jarrett: Monty Brown Winning NWA Worlds Title Wasn’t In His Best Interest

For years, fans wanted Monty Brown to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title as he was one of the most popular wrestlers in the company.
It never happened.
Jeff Jarrett defeated Brown on TNA iMPACT! in November 2004 and then again at TNA Final Resolution 2005.
In a Reddit Q&A, Jarrett, who was also the booker at the time, was asked why Brown never got the title.
“I did not feel that it was in his best interest to win the title because my booking philosophy for a babyface champion to succeed is that you need multiple heel challengers to go through in order to establish a meaningful babyface reign,” wrote Jarrett.
Elsewhere during the Q&A session, Jarrett explained what happened to his AEW retirement tour. You can find his full reply here.
