Kaitlyn: I Never Thought AJ Lee Would Return To WWE
Kaitlyn says she never expected to see AJ Lee’s return to WWE.
Over a decade after she left WWE, AJ Lee returned to the company last year. She wrestled Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in a mixed tag team match with CM Punk at the company’s WrestlePalooza event. Lee’s return surprised many fans, who never thought she would make a comeback.
Speaking on Rewind Recap Relive, former WWE wrestler Kaitlyn (Lee’s former tag team partner) shared her reaction to this return.
“I literally never thought that I would see the day. I never thought, and it’s like, I have a very good friend who lives in South Florida. His name is Sam. We’ve been very close for like 10 years. I lived in South Florida for a long time. He’s like a huge undercover wrestling fan. He always texts me like wrestling tee, cause like, I’m not that tuned into it. He was like messaging me about a potential comeback with her and I’m like, ‘There’s no way.’ Her and I, it’s one of those friendships that, you don’t see each other for five years and then you see each other. It’s like, ‘Oh my god.’ You just pick back up and that’s the type of friendship that we have. But I was shocked and it’s cool because I felt like a fan. Like, oh my God, hell froze over. Especially with all the stuff that happened with CM Punk and I think when she was leaving, it was pretty difficult. So it’s just cool.”
