During the October 17, 2014 edition of WWE SmackDown, Layla faced AJ Lee in a singles match. The ending of this match saw Lee submit Layla with the Black Widow. Instead of tapping on the canvas, as wrestlers usually do, Layla tapped on Lee’s butt to end the match.
Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring recently, she was asked about this moment and whether it was intentional.
“No, it was my fault. Sometimes when I was out there, like I’ll just speak with myself, I forget the camera’s on. I thought that nobody would see that. I was just squeezing her butt like messing with her. I didn’t even know that people saw it. So my bad. I feel bad because we should have been serious. AJ, she was escalating. That was when she was climbing her career and I was just trying to mess with her to make her laugh at the end. But I didn’t know. My mistake, my bad.”
