Layla On Chelsea Green’s Interim WWE Women’s Championship: ‘Why Can’t They Just Say She’s A Women’s Champion? Just Let Her Have That Moment’

Layla wants Chelsea Green to be the WWE Women’s Champion.

At WWE SummerSlam, Chelsea Green became the Interim WWE Women’s Champion. Many fans believe Green should’ve just won the Women’s Championship instead of there being an Interim Champion in WWE.

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, former WWE wrestler Layla was asked if WWE should remove the interim status.

“Absolutely. I don’t get it. The champion or not the champion, just make a choice,” she said.

Layla is a fan of Chelsea Green’s work and believes she should be the Women’s Champion instead.

“I’m a fan of Chelsea Green. She reminds me of the Divas Era. She’s so entertaining and well deserved. She deserved this moment. I don’t like the fact that they put interim and then they put Chelsea Green as a champion. Why can’t they just say she’s a Women’s Champion? Just let her have that moment… I’m not a fan of it. I just prefer they just say she’s a champion.”

Days after winning the title, Green announced that she suffered a broken orbital bone on the August 7 WWE SmackDown.
