Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal) Says Vince McMahon Threatened To Fire Him After He Accidentally Gave Finn Balor A Concussion In 2017
Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal) had an intense confrontation after accidentally hurting Finn Balor.
In 2017, Mahal had a series of matches with Finn Balor on the live event circuit. The pair ended up having a match on Raw just a week after WrestleMania.
As it turns out, Balor suffered a concussion in this match. In a new interview with TMZ Sports, Mahal recalled exchanging words with Vince McMahon after the incident.
βIt was one week before getting drafted to SmackDown, before I became WWE Champion. It was myself and Finn Balor in a singles match on Raw. I accidentally gave him a concussion. He was coming off the ropes, I gave him a forearm. We would do this spot every night on the live events as a hope spot. He would come off the ropes, I would give him a forearm. But, just mistiming. Wrestling is a game of millimeters. If you’re a millimeter off, you could end your career and you could have a broken neck or a serious injury. I gave Finn Balor that concussion, felt terrible. When I came into Gorilla, Vince told me himself, βI should fire you.β That would again change the trajectory of my life because a week later, I went to SmackDown. A week after that, I was number one contender, a month after I was WWE Champion.β
Back in June, Raj Dhesi went viral when he made a video explaining how WWE contracts work. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
