Rhea Ripley Recalls CM Punk Giving Her A Pep Talk Before Her WWE SummerSlam 2024 Return Match

Rhea Ripley recalls the factors that came into play for her to get through her WWE SummerSlam 2024 return match.

Following WrestleMania 40 in 2024, Ripley would suffer a shoulder injury in a backstage brawl with Liv Morgan, resulting in her having to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship. She would return to the ring at SummerSlam that year and would challenge Morgan for the title.

While speaking to ESPN in a new interview, Rhea Ripley was asked how much she fed off the energy of the crowd in her 2024 return match with Liv Morgan at SummerSlam 2024.

“The whole time. Like, if it wasn’t for the crowd making noise and obviously, like, being comfortable with the people that I’m in the ring with, like, I’m comfortable with Liv, I have Dom on the outside who I’m comfortable with. Like, without them, and then before this match, actually, CM Punk gave me a pep talk as well because he could see that I was, like, emotional and, like, stressed out, so he gave me a pep talk, and, like, without all of that as a combination, I don’t know how I would have got through this match.”
