Roman Reigns On Working With Andrew Koji In ‘Street Fighter’: It Felt Like Being In WWE

Roman Reigns recalls working with Andrew Koji for ‘Street Fighter’.

Akuma (Reigns) and Ryu (Koji) share the screen in one of the movie’s biggest action sequences. As it turns out, the ‘Tribal Chief’ felt like he was in WWE when sharing the screen with the legendary martial artist.

“It was awesome. That was kind of a part of the difficulty because we trained so much with John Valera’s team and I was training a lot with Andrew’s stunt double. I was starting to really get his chemistry and his timing and his rhythm, because Andrew’s shooting the whole time. So, as I’m training and trying to get in, he’s already been doing all the work. By the time got together, I had to adjust a little bit and it felt like being in wrestling. It felt like being in the WWE. He’s a tough guy. He actually had to deal with some adversity and he just trucked right through it. But yeah, he’d get in there and make some contact, he’d lay it in there, which is good because that’s what I’m used to anyways. It brings that authentic feeling to the movie.” Roman Reigns told HeyUGuys in a new interview.

Elsewhere in the interview, Reigns talked about working with a stunt double for the film. Check out his full comments by clicking here.

‘Street Fighter’ hits theaters on October 16. The film will also feature Cody Rhodes as Guile and Hirooki Goto as E. Honda.
