Tony Khan Speaks About Will Ospreay Working RevPro Show Before AEW All In: “He Might Have Played With Fire But He Didn’t Get Burned”

Tony Khan says Will Ospreay played with fire, but he didn’t get burned.

August 30th was the date of AEW All In 2026, which was headlined by Will Ospreay challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.

The night before All In, Ospreay competed in a tag team match at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s 14 Year Anniversary Show.

Ospreay went on to win the AEW World Title at All In, and at the post-show media scrum, company President Tony Khan spoke about Ospreay wrestling the night before the main event of AEW’s biggest show of the calendar year.

“In this case, knowing Will Ospreay, I think he knows all the risks associated with pro wrestling. He knew the stakes of tonight and it was a risk he was willing to take and he’s got a great mind for wrestling and in this case, I trusted Will Ospreay and I knew he was gonna give his very best at AEW All In and he absolutely gave his very best at AEW All In. Like you said, it’s pro wrestling. Injuries can happen anytime in the wrestling ring, and that’s a risk Will Ospreay was willing to take because he wanted to be out there with the British wrestling fans and soak in this entire weekend and yeah, he might have played with fire but he didn’t get burned. He’s the World Champion and it’s been a great weekend for Will Ospreay and AEW after that amazing AEW All In show, culminating in the main event, Will Ospreay versus Kenny Omega and yes, Will Ospreay was all over the British wrestling scene, all over TV, media, independent wrestling shows in England and the main event in Wembley Stadium winning the World Championship and I think it’s been a great week for Will Ospreay and his family, including one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Alex Windsor. So, they’re a great family of champions now and I’m very happy for both of them and in Will Ospreay’s case, he’s somebody who I thought could trust to know the risks associated with that match and the importance of AEW All In at Wembley Stadium here tonight.”
