AAA Lucha Libre has announced how they will be replacing Kenny Omega as the AAA Mega Champion.
Kenny Omega was scheduled to face El Hijo Del Vikingo at Triplemania Regia for the AAA Mega Championship. However, now that Kenny Omega is going away for surgery, he has vacated the championship belt which will now be decided in a multi-man match including Vikingo and so far, the only other announcement is the former Kalisto, Samuray Del Sol.
The announcement was made on Twitter and the former WWE United States Champion also reacted to the news in a promo posted on social media.
People that know me, they know me; however, for those who don’t, I can say that I had the honor to hold the name of a legend in the name of Octagon Jr, you may know me as Kalisto from WWE. You may know me for the name I started my career and sacrificed my life, my family, my friends, everything to be where I am at today.
