Adam Cole Says He Never Heard Of Reported Pitch For Him To Be A Manager In WWE

After being one of the faces of NXT since his arrival to the brand in 2017, Cole jumped from WWE to AEW at All Out.

Cole's contract with WWE expired on August 27 and before he officially became a free agent, he met with Vince McMahon. At the AEW All Out post-show media call, Cole said he had a "great" conversation with McMahon.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, there was a pitch to have Cole be the heel manager for Keith Lee.

Speaking to Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Cole commented on the report.

"I personally have never heard anything regarding that," Cole said about the reported pitch. "I touched base a little bit on how my meeting with Vince McMahon went really well. We talked for about 30 minutes. He had a lot of complimentary things to say. As far as hearing that specific thing, that was not something I heard about. My four years with NXT was fantastic. My four years with WWE was awesome, but at the end of the day, I wanted to end up with AEW. Now that I’m here, I’m stoked."

Cole previously revealed that he decided to sign with AEW just days before All Out. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

He is scheduled to make his in-ring debut for AEW on Wednesday's Dynamite against Frankie Kazarian. Fightful will have live coverage of Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m.ET on Wednesday.
