For the first time ever, we have full quarter-hour breakdowns of the “Wednesday Night War” between NXT and AEW.
Courtesy of Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics, a full breakdown of viewership for the August 12 episodes of Dynamite and NXT including when during the respective shows people in the key 18-49 demographic tuned out.
The biggest disparity comes in the fourth quarter-hour segment where AEW has 809,000 total viewers while NXT only has 564,000. In the key demographic, AEW has 440,000 viewers and NXT only had 174,000 viewers in the key demo.
The best overall quarter-hour for AEW was the sixth quarter-hour (between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. ET) where they had 461,000 viewers in the key demographic and 862,000 viewers overall. NXT, on the other hand, peaked in the first quarter-hour what's 720,000 viewers overall and 230,000 viewers in the key demographic.
