AEW Dynamite & NXT 5/27 Draw Highest Viewership In Months

AEW Dynamite and NXT got a solid jump in viewership this week, resulting in the highest viewership numbers for both shows in months.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 827,000 viewers, up from last week's 701,000 viewers and the most since the March 18 episode that averaged 932,000 viewers. NXT, on the other hand, averaged 731,000 viewers, up from last week's 592,000 viewers and the most since February 19 when that episode averaged 794,000 viewers.

Both shows this week combined to draw 1.558 million viewers, which is the most both shows would do since March 4 when it combined to draw 1.624 million viewers.

In the 18-49 demographic, Dynamite came out on top against NXT with a 0.32 rating, good for fourth best on cable for the day and up from last week's 0.26 rating. NXT drew a 0.19 rating in that demographic, which is 24th best on cable and up from last week's 0.13 rating.

NXT this week saw Drake Maverick defeat Jake Atlas and Kushida to clinch a spot in the finals of a tournament to crown an Interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion and in the main event, Timothy Thatcher defeated Matt Riddle. In addition, Charlotte Flair teamed up with Chelsea Green to defeat Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley.

AEW Dynamite featured a Battle Royal to decide Cody's first challenger as TNT Champion, which ended up being Jungle Boy. In the final segment of the show, Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle held a pep rally, which ended in a brawl between The Inner Circle and Mike Tyson with his crew, a crew that included the likes of Henry Cejudo, Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.
