AEW Dynamite Viewership Stays Close To A Million Viewers, Outdraws NXT For 1/8 Episode

For the second straight week, AEW Dynamite's viewership remained strong and close to a million viewers.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the January 8 episode of Dynamite averaged 947,000, slightly down from last week's 967,000 viewers, and a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for sixth best on cable for the day. NXT, on the other hand, averaged 721,000 viewers and a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for 55th best on cable for the day. The last time NXT held a live, non-awards episode was back on December 18 and that show did 795,000 viewers.

AEW this week saw Riho retain her AEW Women's Championship against Kris Statlander as well as Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Cody and Dustin Rhodes competing in their respective tag team matches. The show ended with Jon Moxley rejecting Chris Jericho's offer to join the Inner Circle.

NXT this week saw two matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as well as Keith Lee winning a fatal four-way to get an NXT North American Championship opportunity. Next week's show will feature two more matches in the Tag Team Classic.
