Report: AEW Hires Former IMPACT Wrestling Employee To Aid Its Global Expansion

AEW has made an internal hire that will hopefully help them grow their business internationally, according to new reports.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that All Elite Wrestling has hired Shane Emerson for the position of Head of Global Programming and Partnerships. Emerson had, reportedly, started with the company this week.

In his role, Emerson will be spearheading the company's international expansion through licensing, partnerships, and other strategies. Emerson held a similar role during a six-year time frame in IMPACT Wrestling from 2011 to 2017. Reportedly, he was well-liked during that tenure and he was seen as someone who got a lot done in the role.

Due to the global pandemic, AEW has yet to hold a show outside of the United States of America but it continues to be one of the things that they hope to achieve as soon as possible. Specifically, they want to be able to host a major event in the United Kingdom.

Before any of that, they must get through All Out weekend, featuring the in-ring return of CM Punk. You can check out the full card here.
