AJ Styles comments after the reception he received on last week’s WWE RAW.

Following WWE’s Premium Live Event Clash In Paris last weekend, WWE would remain in the city for Monday Night RAW, which featured a WWE Intercontinental Championship match between AJ Styles and Dominik Mysterio. Much like Backlash 2024, AJ would receive an incredible reception for the French fans, chanting for over five minutes straight following his entrance and commercial break.

While speaking to WWE in the aftermath of the reaction in Paris, France, AJ was asked if he’s ever had a reaction like that before, with Styles pointing to the last time he appeared on WWE TV in France.

“Well, yeah, yeah, I have had something. It was in Lyon, France, and the thing is, I wasn’t able to absorb it and take it all in. But tonight, I got to soak it in, close my eyes, and just take mental images that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Man, I didn’t realize… I didn’t realize how much AJ Styles was loved, and that means a lot. It’s not just like… ‘Hey, he wrestles for the WWE.’ They appreciate the work that I put in for the past two decades, two and a half decades and man, that means a lot. I did something right in this business. Not everything, but tonight it showed me I did have what it takes to get the love and support that I need. Need is the key word. I needed that. I needed that love to have a great match with Dominik Mysterio. Not because Dominik Mysterio’s not great, cause he is. I needed it for me. I needed it for my ego. All these little things that shouldn’t matter, but sometimes it does cause you just don’t know if you’ve done enough. I needed that. I’ll take every opportunity that I can get, and I don’t know if this leads to another one, cause I lost. I don’t have support from anybody else. I don’t have a clique or a squad or a club anymore. I have no one. All I’ve got is me and my family when I go home. That’s all I’ve got. I had France tonight. They had my back, but they couldn’t get in the ring or come outside and help me outside of the ring. They couldn’t do that. I guess you could say I miss my boys. I miss Gallows and Anderson, Omos. Miss those guys, man. It’d be nice to have some help, but it’s on me now.”

Elsewhere, AJ’s son would agree with a fan stating that AJ’s current WWE booking is ‘disrespectful’, you can read more about that here.
