- Prior to the attack from AJ Styles, Matt Riddle defeated John Morrison in the opening contest of the evening in a highly competitive match. This followed a promo by Riddle which was interrupted by King Baron Corbin.

- Jeff Hardy's segment with Sheamus "toasting him" was awkward as ever and ended with the joke being on Sheamus' personal "bartender." Sheamus was presented via video wall.

- Tonight, SmackDown presented a tribute to Sasha Banks and Bayley, which was interrupted by BlissCross Applesauce.

- This then led to an impromptu match between Bayley and Alexa Bliss where Nikki Cross got Bliss disqualified.

- At Extreme Rules: The Horror Show, Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman will return to the Swamp in a non-title Swamp Fight. Tonight, there was a preview of the cinematic brawl.

- Elsewhere tonight, Shinsuke Nakamura beat Kofi Kingston in a brief, but high-octane bout.

- After the bout, Cesaro and Nakamura tried to introduce a table but were thwarted before anything could actually happen.

- Next week, BlissCross Applesauce will face Sasha Banks and Bayley in a non-title match, Cesaro and Nakamura will get a WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship opportunity, and Bray Wyatt versus Braun Strowman from WWE Money in the Bank 2020 will be played in its entirety.
