Alberto El Patron Says There Are Plans For Nacion Lucha Libre To Do Joint-Show With Combate Americas

El Patron reveals plans for a joint-show involving Nacion Lucha Libre and Combate Americas.

Alberto El Patron once served as the President of the MMA promotion Combate Americas and he is currently a representative and figurehead of the Nacion Lucha Libre wrestling promotion. Nacion Lucha Libre has their first show slated for July 11th and also has a television deal in place. Throughout El Patron's time as President of Combate Americas, he established a relationship with Combate CEO Campbell McLaren who Alberto has publicly praised for not only being a good boss, but a good friend as well.

El Patron did not go into detail but did state during an interview with the Miami Herald that there are plans to do a joint-show involving Combate Americas and Nacion Lucha Libre that will have MMA and wrestling at the same event.

“Oh no, we’re gonna do it." El Patron said. "We’re actually working with a new administration in the Mexican government. They have a really good relationship with the new government so we’ve been talking about having a massive event in downtown Mexico City where we could have pro wrestling and… Nacion Lucha Libre and Combate Americas in the same event. But of course, this is something so huge that I want to be doing it with the government of Mexico. That was actually our first idea for the first Nacion Lucha event, but of course with the Combate calender, that didn’t work. I cannot give you a date right now, but I know it’s gonna happen soon for us to have our huge event -- combining those two brands and having Lucha and MMA on the same day.”

Alberto El Patron further dove into everything Nacion Lucha Libre during the interview and to check out the audio, head over to Jim Varsallone's YouTube channel.
