Alexa Bliss: "If There’s Anyone That Had To Take The Title From Me At Least It Was Ronda Rousey”

Bliss isn't mad at it.

The self-proclaimed "Goddess" of WWE is a former five-time WWE Women's Champion and her fifth reign was put to bed this past Sunday at SummerSlam where she fell in defeat to the UFC Hall Of Famer and new RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey is the first woman to have held gold in both the UFC and WWE and Bliss, who lost the title to Ronda does not mind that her reign was put on hold by the first-ever UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.

Coming out of the SummerSlam PPV, Alexa Bliss spoke with Jeff Jacobs of the CTPost and during the interview Bliss discussed losing the RAW Women's Championship at WWE's "Biggest Party Of The Summer".

“My thing on the whole situation is if there’s anyone that had to take the title from me at least it was Ronda Rousey,” Bliss said. “Not many people can say they had their first big title loss to Ronda Rousey. I guess I’m ok." She continued, "But I do have a rematch clause that I get to invoke at any point. Every champion is entitled to a rematch. I am preparing for that. I don’t know when it’s going to happen. She’s going to hold the title for now, but she’s not going to hold it for long.”

Bliss has her eyes on another opponent as well in the form of WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus who Bliss will be going one-on-one with at WWE's 'Evolution' PPV on October 28th. Alexa Bliss found out she was facing Trish through social media at the same time that the rest of the wrestling world did. Alexa stated that she is very excited to step into the ring with the WWE Hall Of Famer and that it has always been a dream of hers to mix it up with Trish Stratus.

“It’s very exciting,” Bliss said. “I have always loved Trish. I always watched Trish growing up. I actually got to meet her for the first time at the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. I wasn’t able to be part of it because I was holding a title at the time. I’m really excited to be in the ring with her, to have this match with an idol. I really want to work with Trish. I’ve worked hard for this. It might be a little harder to get mad and mean at Trish.”

Coming out of SummerSlam there was a confrontation between Stephanie McMahon and the new RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey. Check out our coverage of this past Monday's edition of RAW for more information on the confrontation.
