Following the match, Imperium members Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner attacked Wolfe, seemingly kicking him out of Imperium. There had been dissension in Imperium for weeks with as Wolfe attempted, and failed, to recruit his former SAnitY running mate Killian Dain into the group.

Wolfe sent out the following tweet after news of his release was reported.

Wolfe was signed by WWE in 2015 and held the NXT Tag Team Titles alongside Eric Young. He joined the main roster with SAnitY in 2018 before heading to NXT UK to join Imperium in 2019.

Killer Kelly told Fightful recently that Alexander Wolfe actually has a friendship with Josh Barnett and helped her get booked for Bloodsport.
