All Elite Wrestling Power Rankings - Week Eight

The Power Rankings are back on schedule with Full Gear and the fall out on Dynamite behind us. Maybe you noticed AEW dropped their own power rankings last week. Pay no attention to those (unless you're reading them on Fightful). Their rankings only reveal the top five. Even MySpace had a top eight. These are the official rankings. Only on Fightful.

Here's how it works; I rank anything and everything from the past week of AEW Dynamite And Full Gear, giving what I liked a low number and what I didn't like a higher number. The numbers are fairly arbitrary, but an explanation accompanies each ranking. Because AEW won't use the same talent every week, you won't see the same people, places, or things ranked every week. If you don't see something ranked, feel free to ask me on social media (@jeremylambert88) where it would fall. I will use a random number generator and reply ASAP.

AEW Power Rankings - Week Eight

1. Scorpio Sky

Sky not only scored a victory at Full Gear, he picked up a big win on AEW Dynamite, pinning AEW World Champion Chris Jericho to give Jericho his first loss in the promotion. This guy is very popular despite never liking the town he's in.

2. Jon Moxley

Unfortunately, despite nearly killing himself and scoring two pinfall victories, Moxley only went 1-0 this week. And a win over Michael Nakazawa isn't actually a big deal. But the visual victory over Kenny Omega still counts for something, as does his threat to murder everyone on the roster. It's wrestling. Murder is legal.

3. SCU

Hey, Frankie Kazarian did his part in the tag team matches and Christopher Daniels returned. They tell us they're the best every time they enter the ring. Maybe we should start listening to them?

4. MJF

He didn't win, but he pulled off two of the biggest moments of the week. First, he cost Cody the chance to ever win the AEW World Title. Do you know the balls and manipulation it takes to pull that off? And he stood toe-to-toe with Jericho on the mic before debuting his new monster friend. Wins and losses aren't everything. The AEW Power Rankings (not these, the ones actually co-opted by AEW) prove that.

5. Chris Jericho

The loss to Scorpio Sky hurts, but Jericho did defeat Cody in arguably the best match of the week. And, though he's not Le Double Champion, he's still Le Champion. He also cut a hell of a promo on Cody.

8. Luchasaurus' Healing Ability

I have no idea how dinosaurs are extinct when they heal in a month. Those meteors must have cheated.

10. Santana & Ortiz

Picked up a big victory over The Young Bucks and then added insult to injury by trying to kill the Young Bucks. Again, it's wrestling. Murder is legal. The circle spray paint gimmick is also cool.

14. Garbage Wrestling

The best troll job anyone ever did was putting a "No More Garbage Wrestling" shirt on Shawn Spears and then headline the same event with Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega using mousetraps.

25. Pac

25. Hangman Page

It's a tie. Because they went 1-1 this week. Hopefully, they settle this in a best of 20 series.

31. Darby Allin

His victory wasn't all that meaningful, but I admire a man who is willing to show his balls in a boiler room while fighting Jon Moxley. I think I got that right.

37. Kenny Omega

Technically, he never lost. But the poor soul nearly died (Murder. It's legal) against Moxley. Omega had an easier time getting into Japan this week.

40. Orange Cassidy

Yup.

45. Pentagon Jr.

Why do people keep stealing his gear? Does he not have his own locker? Did he loan out his gear thinking he would be helped? This is a mystery that must be solved.

50. Women's Roster

On one hand, Riho is awesome and her match with Emi Sakura was great and the story between Britt Baker and Bea Priestley had some teeth to it (dentists jokes). On the other hand, they're all taking a backseat to Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong.

61. Joey Janela

This poor guy lost to Shawn Spears and got his girl stolen by Kip Sabian. Down some White Claws and give us The Bad Boy, Joey.

73. Nick Jackson's Leg

This poor guy may never walk again. But he'll be throwing superkick in a week.

79. Lights Out

End this gimmick or pay some bills. Actually, don't end it. It's fine. Just stop doing it for Shawn Spears' entrance because it takes away from every other time you do it. It's cool for Awesome Kong. It worked for MJF and Fallen Pentagon Angel. Just bring out Spears with his chair. He doesn't need to be sitting there.

99. Canadian Destroyers

Ban this move. It doesn't need to be a kick out spot on the pre-show and a 63-year-old man doesn't need to be doing it either. They're going to turn this thing into the superkick before the end of 2019.

100. Cody

He can never challenge for the AEW World Title again, his best friend turned on him, and he was nearly choked to death (Murder..it's, you get it.)

101. Cody's Face

As bad as Cody had it. His face had it worse.
