Anthony Ogogo broke a rib during training for his pay-per-view debut match against Cody Rhodes.
Professional wrestling isn't ballet and sometimes, injuries can occur at the most inopportune moments. Anthony Ogogo is experiencing such an inopportune moment with less than a week to go before his pay-per-view debut match against Cody Rhodes at AEW Double Or Nothing 2021.
The former boxer, who has been turning back his opponents with ease on AEW television revealed in an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro that he broke a rib during training, and in his words, “his rib is fucked.”
“I’m sitting here now – I’m very, very open and honest, probably too open and honest… But I am who I am, I do what I do. I’ve got a broken rib right now. My rib’s broken because I did a move in training this week. I did it wrong, and I broke a rib. I’m now wrestling Cody, the best wrestler in the world, with a broken rib… And that’s real, that’s not me just saying that. My rib is fucked!”
In an update, Ogogo took to social media to say his rib isn't broken.
Building up to this match, Cody Rhodes delivered a promo highlighting some of the flaws in American society while also discussing why he is proud to be an American. On a recent media call, Cody Rhodes clarified recent comments made where he stated he ran the promo by a focus group. Learn more here.
