Athena Says Billie Starkz’ Girl Fight Wrestling Show Was ‘Probably One Of The Most Organized Shows I’ve Ever Been A Part Of’

Athena was happy to help out Billie Starkz.

Back in February, Starkz ran her own wrestling show as a part of the Girl Fight Wrestling revival. The show, titled Your Lost Valentine, featured names like Killer Kelly, Maya World, and of course, Athena.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Athena spoke about helping Starkz run the show.

“I remember when she first came to me, because we do the Who Runs the World show, but I also run a weekly wrestling show with MPX Wrestling, Metroplex Wrestling in Dallas. So I’ve been doing this for about four years, going strong with the best team in the world of owners and staff and talent. So when she told me this, was like, ‘Billie, I don’t think you know what you’re getting into.’ Originally, I was supposed to come and help out and help her run her back of house for her because I am totally intimidating though I’m 5’1. Totally intimidating. But yeah, she told me and I was like, ‘Buddy, I think you’re in over your head with this.’ She did an awesome job. She shocked everyone. It was probably one of the most organized shows I’ve ever been a part of and when she had someone cancel last minute, I ended up filling that position for her on the actual show.”

To round out the topic, the ‘Minion Overlord’ said that she couldn’t be more proud of Starkz for providing a platform for women’s wrestling.

“So yeah, I’m very proud of her. Couldn’t be more proud for her. The fact that she is able to continue on that streak in the same way that I’m able to do with Who Runs the World, it’s awesome. It’s really awesome to have women providing platforms for other women across the U.S.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Athena updated fans on her ROH Women’s World Championship aspirations. Check out her full comments by clicking here.
