Austin Theory made his NXT television debut on Wednesday's NXT, accepting Roderick Strong's open challenge. Theory took on Strong for the NXT North American Championship but came up short in his efforts to win the title.
Theory signed with WWE in August and has worked the NXT live event loop in Florida. He is a former EVOLVE World Champion.

Theory wasn't the only former EVOLVE talent to debut on Wednesday as Shotzi Blackheart made her television debut, taking on Bianca Belair. Like Theory, Shotzi was unable to pick up the victory in her debut.
Shotzi was offered a WWE contract at EVOLVE 137 and was part of the November WWE Performance Center recruitment class. She has worked a handful of NXT live events.
