The finish saw Rollins, the champion entering the bout, going for a falcon arrow after hitting a top rope superplex on Theory. As he lifted Theory for the move, Lashley hit a spear on Rollins. Theory fell into the cover and the pinfall victory.

Rollins won the WWE United States Championship on the October 10 episode of WWE Raw when he defeated Lashley, who was softened up before the match by Brock Lesnar. Theory unsuccessfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase for the US Title on November 7 episode of WWE Raw, losing to Rollins. Rollins made three successful title defenses during his run.

This marks Theory's second run with the US Title. He is already the youngest US Champion ever.
