Bandido Defeats RUSH To Capture ROH World Championship At Best In The World 2021

The Ring of Honor World Championship was on the line at Best in the World.

Bandido earned the opportunity to challenge for the belt by outlasting five other competitors to win the Survival of the Fittest elimination match. Aside from a two-month stretch from December 2019-February 2020, RUSH has held the title since Death Before Dishonor XVII in September 2019. Since he joined ROH, RUSH has only been pinned once, by PCO.

The match began with RUSH firmly in control. He was even taunting Bandido with his pin attempts. The scales evened, however, as the bout continued. After a series of dives to the outside, chair shots, and a slam through a table, the action returned inside the ring. It was at this point that Bandido surprised RUSH with a roll-up for the 1-2-3. Just like that, a new ROH World Champion has been crowned.

The partially de-masked Bandido didn't have long to celebrate, though, as RUSH and La Facción Ingobernable attacked him and left him lying in the middle of the ring as the show went off the air.
