Baron Corbin Says He's Fighting To Stay In NXT To Give The Main Roster Audience A Break From Him

Baron Corbin went undrafted in the 2023 WWE Draft, making him a free agent and allowing him to appear on any brand.

He returned to NXT on the May 30 episode, immediately going after NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. Corbin has remained in NXT, feuding with Hayes and then Gable Steveson, as he's burned his past as a way to look to his future.

Speaking to The Angle Podcast at WWE SummerSlam media, Corbin was asked about his WWE free agent status.

"I'm still on all three shows. I am fighting to stay in NXT a little bit. I really want give our audience a good break from me, give them a few months without driving them nuts. I would like to personally stay in NXT for a couple more months and really fine tune the details of what I'm trying to bring to the people. NXT is great. I've been enjoying working with those superstars. They have a lot of energy, a lot of excitement, they love this. It's a fun place to be," he said.

Corbin battled Steveson at NXT Great American Bash with the bout ended in a double count out.
