Becky Lynch Will Challenge Carmella For Smackdown Women's Championship At SummerSlam

Becky Lynch has a chance to become a two-time Champion.

In 2016, Becky Lynch became the first wrestler to hold the Smackdown Women's Championship until she was defeated by Alexa Bliss at WWE TLC that year. Lynch's last chance at a Championship was at WrestleMania 33 when she was unsuccessful in a six-pack challenge.

On Smackdown, Lynch faced Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella and if she won Lynch would earn a title opportunity at SummerSlam. Lynch was victorious in the match.

The match happened soon after James Ellsworth was fired by Smackdown General Manager Paige and Ellsworth had been helping Carmella keep her Championship in the last few matches

SummerSlam already has Championship matches scheduled for the event including the Raw Women's Championship match, a WWE Championship match, and a WWE Universal Championship.
