Big E: If This Is Goodbye For Asuka, She Will Be Dearly Missed
Asuka fell to IYO SKY at WWE Backlash in a student vs. teacher rivalry.
After the match, Asuka and SKY embraced with Asuka soaking in the love from the crowd in Tampa. SKY made sure to highlight her opponent, giving her some proverbial flowers.
On the Backlast post-show, Big E didn’t want to speculate on the future of “The Empress of Tomorrow,” but did comment on what the post-match embrace could have meant.
“I wonder if this was a goodbye. We’ve never really seen Asuka this emotional. If this is goodbye, I know she will be dearly missed. She has been a pioneer and has done truly incredible things in the ring before she even got to WWE, but has further staked her claim as an all time great here in WWE. I don’t know what this means,” he said.
