During their rivalry in AEW, Blake Monroe (Mariah May in AEW) and Toni Storm traded harsh words in the lead up to their biggest matches.
A promo that continues to circulate years later is the sit-down interview between the two and Renee Paquette.
In the promo, Storm states, “You do not deserve the dignity of death. I sentence you to a lifetime of mediocrity. Your life will continue. Your career will continue, and it’ll be good, but never great. People will like you, but never love you, because the star that you are will not compare to this monster that you’ve become. So you will dwindle, be replaced, and be forgotten. Then one day, many years from now, someone will ask, whatever happened to Mariah May? She found out what happens when you try to kill God.”
Fans like to use the clip as a knock on Monroe and her run in WWE thus far.
On TikTok, Monroe responded to user mariwrld, who posted the clip by writing, “what scripted promo will you cling on to when I become world champion. I’m winning everything, I got my whole career ahead of me.”

Monroe is a former NXT Women’s North American Champion.
