Fulton has been battling throat cancer over the years. Fulton was initially diagnosed with throat cancer in December 2019 and began chemotherapy the following month. On June 5, he announced to the world that he was cancer-free. A little over a month later, sadly, Fulton shared that cancer had returned to a different part of his throat.

He was taken to the hospital in August after he was spitting up blood.

Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers were known as The Fantastics in the NWA. Their United States Tag Team Championship match against The Midnight Express was one of the signature matches on the first-ever Clash of Champions which went head-to-head against WrestleMania IV in 1988.

He continues to make appearances at various conventions.
