Bobby Roode Replacing Kevin Owens In The Mixed Match Challenge Tournament

'Team Pawz' just got "Glorious".

It was reported earlier this week by Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens is set to undergo knee surgery and is expected to miss four-to-eight months rehabbing. The news of Owens' injury was first brought to light on the Tuesday following RAW where he lost to Bobby Lashley in singles action and John Pollock of POST Wrestling reported that the match and post-match angle where Lashley focused in on Owens' knee was done to write K.O. off of television.

WWE put up a storyline-based article on their website which pinned Bobby Lashley as the reason for Kevin Owens' injury. On top of Owens' duties on RAW, he also partook in the Mixed Match Challenge tournament alongside former SmackDown Live Women's Champion Natalya and the two were known as 'Team Pawz'. With the news of Kevin Owens' injury and him having to undergo surgery, former NXT Champion and season one Mixed Match Challenge tournament participant Bobby Roode was announced as Natalya's partner for the remainder of season two.
