Braun Strowman Tore His Meniscus At WWE Survivor Series 2020, Was Set For Bodybuilding Show

Braun Strowman was part of Team Raw at Survivor Series 2020, helping lead the team to victory in a clean sweep over Team SmackDown.

The following night on Raw, Strowman was suspended indefinitely for headbutting Adam Pearce. Strowman would remain off television until the January 29, 2021 episode of WWE SmackDown when he returned to declare himself for the Royal Rumble.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Strowman commented on his absence and revealed he suffered a torn meniscus at Survivor Series.

“I’m finally listening to my body,” Strowman said. “I used to be so worried about just getting big. I was on path to do a bodybuilding show until I tore my meniscus back at Survivor Series last year, and that put a damper on my cardio. A lot of this is mental, and I’m working to give people the absolute best I can.”

Strowman is set to compete in a triple threat match for the WWE Title against Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash.

Speaking about the match, Strowman said, "Bobby is a specimen, Drew is a specimen and I am a specimen. This is King Kong meets Godzilla meets the Incredible Hulk, and we’ll see who is the top of the food chain. Bobby and Drew are so talented. The Last Man Standing match I had with Bobby [at Extreme Rules in 2019] is my favorite match of all time and they pull out a different side of me. There is nowhere else you’ll see three guys go at it like this.”

Strowman could be in action on Monday's WWE Raw as either he or McIntyre will face Lashley.

Fightful will have live coverage of WWE Raw beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
