Brian Myers Returns To IMPACT, Answers Eddie Edwards' World Championship Open Challenge

It's been a long time since Brian Myers last appeared on IMPACT, but he has returned.

Myers, the former Curt Hawkins in WWE, answered Eddie Edwards' open challenge for an IMPACT World Championship match tonight in the main event of IMPACT Wrestling. Myers was unsuccessful in winning the belt, however, with Edwards' reign as champion remaining intact.

This was Myers' first match in IMPACT since the 2015 edition of Bound For Glory, back when IMPACT was TNA, when he failed to capture the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Myers joins a number of WWE stars who were released several months ago to join IMPACT. Former Raw Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows signed with IMPACT recently and appeared at Slammiversary. In addition, Eric Young competed in the main event of Slammiversary for the IMPACT World Championship and Heath Slater, now going by Heath, has also appeared on IMPACT programming recently. Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 also has made his return to the company.

Myers has had multiple stints with WWE throughout his career and is a two-time tag team champion with Zack Ryder. In April, Myers was one of many who were released by WWE as a result of budget cuts due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
