Brian Myers Speaks About JDC’s Retirement: “It’s Gonna Get More Emotional As We Head To It”

Brian Myers speaks about his friend stepping away.
It is official that after TNA Wrestling’s Genesis pay-per-view in January 2026, J.D.C. a.k.a. Fandango will be retiring from pro wrestling. 2026 will mark 27 years as a wrestler for JDC.
J.D.C. is currently a member of The System (Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards & Alisha Edwards). Myers guest appeared on Busted Open and spoke about his longtime friend’s pending retirement.
“Yeah, that one stings a little deeper. To know him is to love him. He’s one of my best friends. I’ve known him for almost 20 years now, and he’s got this humor, he lights up a room whenever he’s in it. So when he says things like, ‘I’m gonna retire,’ you almost don’t believe him and he said so much, and we started doing these TVs and realizing like, man, this is actually it. It’s gonna get more emotional as we head to it, and I’m happy for him. To make that decision, consciously, to walk away. He’s got great things going on in his personal life and his real life and he’ll still be out and about, doing the conventions and things like that. I won’t see him as much as I would like, but I’ll see him. But yeah, I’m just grateful that I got these last two years to really be in The System with him and be as close to him as you possibly could be.”
In JDC’s final match, he will be taking on his fellow member in The System, Eddie Edwards, in a one-on-one match.
