Britt Baker: WWE Has Released So Many Talents That Now You Don't Even Need To Cross Forbidden Doors

Britt Baker says with so many recent releases occurring in WWE, there are even fewer “Forbidden Doors” in the world of wrestling but more opportunities.

Britt Baker is the face of the AEW women's division. As the current World Champion, she is seen as the top of the food chain in the division and has defeated everyone that is currently ranked in the top 5 of the division.

AEW is also known for utilizing free agency and working relationships with other promotions to establish fresh matchups for its talent but in the women's division, there has not been much in the way of cross-promotion on a major scale.

Speaking on the In The Kliq podcast, Baker spoke about the “Forbidden Door” and why she believes that after so many releases from WWE in the past couple of years, there is less need for any talent to cross “Forbidden Doors,” and named key talent she would like to work with, including IMPACT's Deonna Purrazzo.

“I mean, obviously one of my best friends and who I think one of the best female wrestlers out there today is Deonna Purrazzo. She wrestles for IMPACT. So I would love to definitely lock up with her one day,” Baker said. “Not to kind of turn the tides here but unfortunately, WWE has been releasing so many talents that right now you don't even have to cross any "Forbidden Doors." There are just so many amazingly talented free agents right now, period. There's so many that I would love to wrestle I've never wrestled before.”

Baker would also talk about the recently-released Toni Storm saying that she considers her to be one of the best wrestlers in the world and she would like to be able to step in the ring with her one day to prove that.

“Toni Storm, I think, when you talk about top female wrestlers, if she doesn't come to mind, then you're not watching, because she's absolutely phenomenal. She's wrestled all over the world. I've never wrestled her. I would love to somehow, someway, someplace lock up with her.”

Toni Storm was recently granted her release from WWE following a televised feud with Charlotte Flair that ended with a SmackDown Women’s Championship match held on Christmas Eve. Learn more about Toni's release here.

Baker recently successfully defended her championship against Riho at AEW Battle of the Belts in the main event of the first hour-long quarterly special on TNT. See full coverage here.
