Bully Ray's idea stems from Truth's pending departure from WWE.
After R-Truth announced that he was being let go from WWE, Fightful Select followed up on that and learned that WWE is not renewing his contract.
There were a multitude of comments from WWE wrestlers and talents from around the sport that weighed in on the news. As it became a talking point on Busted Open, Bully Ray shared his idea that Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena should take credit for Truth's deal not being renewed. He added that Cena should mention that he contacted TKO Board member Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to get it done.
“At the press conference a couple of weeks ago, before (John) Cena put (R) Truth through the table, he said, ‘You know, Ron, I never liked you.’ If this whole Truth thing is legit and they’re not renewing his contract or as he says, ‘released,’ I put John Cena on TV with a microphone in his hand and he says, ‘I never liked Ron Killings. Ron Killings was released because of me. I said I was gonna ruin wrestling. I’m ruining it for you fans. You loved this guy. I know you loved this guy. I called The Rock. The Rock released Ron Killings. End of story. You got a problem with it? Write a letter.’”
Truth had a singles match with John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. Cena put him away with a low blow and Attitude Adjustment.
His last match for the company was on the May 30th Friday Night SmackDown. He fell in defeat to J.C. Mateo.
