Sporting events without fans could be making their way to California in the coming weeks.
During his latest press conference, California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that "sporting events, in the first week or so of June, without spectators and modifications and very prescriptive conditions, can also begin to move forward."
Bringing back sports without fans would be part of phase three of California's plan to re-open the economy. Allowing fans at sporting events would not happen until phase four, though Newsom cautioned that it might not happen until a COVID-19 vaccine is found.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti previously stated that large gatherings may not be possible in the city for at least a year.
WrestleMania 37 is currently scheduled to take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, though the opening of the stadium has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
SoCalUnscenored notes that NJPW is planning to do shows from the LA Dojo during the summer, but that has not been confirmed. NJPW previously stated that running empty arena events was possible, though they have no made any announcements regarding plans.
