Candice LeRae Added To NXT Women's Title Number One Contender Match On 9/18 NXT

Candice LeRae gets a golden opportunity.

On Wednesday's episode of NXT, NXT General Manager added Candice LeRae to the NXT Women's Title Number One Contender bout on the Sept. 18 edition of NXT. The match now becomes a fatal four-way that also features Mia Yim, Bianca Belair, and Io Shirai.

From NXT:

The NXT Women?s division will take the spotlight next Wednesday on the night of the black-and-gold brand?s USA Network debut, as Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, Io Shirai and Bianca Belair clash in a Fatal 4-Way Match to determine the next contender to Shayna Baszler?s NXT Women?s Title.

Though the bout was originally scheduled as a Triple Threat Match involving Yim, Shirai and Belair, NXT General Manager William Regal added LeRae to the mix after Tenacious C demanded to know why Shirai, her archrival, had been granted the opportunity despite her controversial actions, which included a recent Kendo stick attack against LeRae.

Indeed, the high-stakes match not only carries title implications, but it also brims with personal animosity. Yim and Belair are familiar foes, having gone to war in a best-of-three series earlier this year. LeRae and Shirai, meanwhile, have been at each other?s throats ever since The Genius of the Sky callously betrayed LeRae in June.

Who will navigate the minefield and outlast the competition to stake a claim for a future title match with The Queen of Spades? Find out when NXT airs live Wednesday, Sept. 18, on USA Network! The action kicks off at 8/7 C on USA Network and then continues live at 9/8 C on the award-winning WWE Network.

Also during Wednesday's episode, The Street Profits vowed to win back the NXT Tag Team Titles from Undisputed Era (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) on the Sept. 18 episode, but no match has been officially announced.

However, it was announced that the NXT North American Title match between Velveteen Dream and Roderick Strong would take place during the USA hour of NXT. Meanwhile, the Street Fight between Matt Riddle and Killian Dain will be part of the second hour on WWE Network.

Fightful will have live coverage of NXT beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
