On January 10, it was announced that following a poll, it would be Big E of the New Day teaming with Carmella:
The former Raw Women's Champion Bayley will team with Elias, after it was revealed Samoa Joe won the voting but was eliminated due to injury.
Meanwhile on Smackdown, Natalya's partner was revealed to be none other than Shinsuke Nakamura:
And Sami Zayn revealed himself to be Becky Lynch's partner:
January 8 brought the news that The Miz will be partnering with the undefeated Asuka. Miz was thrilled to be partnered with the undefeated Empress of Tomorrow:
That day also brought the announcement of Goldust and Alicia Fox as a duo. Fox surprised Goldust as he was putting his makeup on:
On January 5, WWE announced that Enzo Amore has been replaced with Apollo Crews, who will team with Nia Jax to represent Raw. She was less than enthused about the pairing:
Also on January 5, WWE revealed that the married couple of Naomi and Jimmy Uso would tag on the Smackdown side of things for Mixed Match Challenge.
Finn Balor will team with Sasha Banks, representing Raw. Previous videos had indicated that Balor and Bayley may be a potential team, but as you can see in the video above, Raw GM Kurt Angle made the call to go with Balor and Banks as a team.
Meanwhile, a real life couple will be teaming up as Lana and Rusev will be representing Smackdown in the tournament.
The duo join Alexa Bliss/Braun Strowman and Charlotte/Bobby Roode as the first teams announced for the Mixed Match Challenge. Others will be announced in the coming days, leading to the debut of the program on January 16 following Smackdown. The show will be streamed live on Facebook Watch.
