Gabe Sapolsky helped co-found Ring of Honor in 2002, taking on the role as the booker of the promotion.
Sapolsky would lead ROH through the early years, helping establish names such as Low Ki, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, CM Punk, and more.
Sapolsky was the ROH booker until October 2008, when he left the company for other ventures.
Speaking on Talk is Jericho with Chris Jericho, former ROH owner Cary Silkin discussed Gabe's influence on the early days of ROH.
"You know that the life expectancy of bookers isn't very strong. He lasted until 2008. Gabe did a phenomenal job, but it's like he's the son of Paul Heyman. He inherited some of the negative angry traits of Paul Heyman. Like showpiece kind of stuff. Just getting angry to get angry. I wasn't crazy about that behavior. His booking was fantastic. We had so many guys going through, but I had to make a change and that led to Adam Pearce. Gabe did a great job," he said.
Sapolsky was a protege of Heyman in ECW, working in marketing and public relations. After leaving ROH, Sapolsky would launch Dragon Gate USA in April 2009 before becoming the founder of EVOLVE in August 2014.
He signed with WWE in January 2018 to work as a consultant.
